Overview: This truss-structured broadcasting tower was built in 1958 and has observation decks at heights of 150m and 250m. It was built to transmit television footage for the Tokyo Olympics scheduled for 1964, and for a long time it boasted being the tallest self-standing steel tower in Japan. It lost its title to Tokyo Skytree, which was completed in 2012, but its elegant appearance and location near the Imperial Palace and other parts of the city center continue to attract many tourists.
